Volunteer

Roots Rocks and Reptiles welcomes volunteers of all ages and experience levels. Volunteer opportunities may vary depending on current projects, comfort level, experience, and availability. Some opportunities are hands on at the rescue, while others can be completed independently or from home.

Volunteer hours can be documented for school, service programs, or other community service requirements!

Common volunteer activities include:

• Preparing food for animals and feeder colonies

• Cleaning and maintaining enclosures

• Handling and socializing ambassador animals

• Assisting at fairs, markets, and community events

•  Collecting natural materials such as leaf litter or decomposing wood during nature walks

• Sanitizing leaf litter and preparing enclosure materials

• Assisting with supply pickups and shopping trips

• Assisting with educational projects and outreach
